Seminary Graduation

Our ward had all the graduating seniors give talks about seminary at church.  There was 6 girls and 2 boys who talked.  Coelton gave a great talk, it was worth driving all night to hear.
Later that night was the seminary graduation for our stake.  It was really good, and there were some great speakers.  President Miller told the kids there was 2 things they absolutely needed to do.  #1 the boys needed to serve missions and #2 they should all go to a church school or a school with a good institute program.

Nationals at Lagoon

This is our third year going to nationals for the clogging competition.  This year Chloe was able to go as well!  She started clogging lessons in March and did so well she was able to go to lagoon and compete.

Joel and the boys were unable to go this year, so the girls and I rode with the Hart's.  The boys in their family couldn't go either, so Mrs. Hart and her two girls went.  We left Friday morning and arrived at lagoon in time for advanced solos.  Hailey took a 1st place!

We stayed in Layton at a hotel (Hampton) of course.  We went swimming and then to bed.  We got up early and headed back to lagoon for more competing.  Hailey danced 2 dances; Rapper's Delight and Wierd Science and got 2- second places.

Chloe danced 2 dances too.  Lolipop and Hoe Down Throw Down.  She got 2 first places!  She practices every day.  She hooks up the camera to the TV and watches her dances that I video taped at class and practices that way.
Chloe was tall enough this year to ride the big rides.  We went on the spider, collosus, the white roller coaster, mighty mouse, the Bat, and tidal wave (the last row!) a lot.
Hailey and I went on Wicked.  She rode the rides with her clogging buddies and loved that.

We stayed and played until 9pm and then hit the road back.  We arrived to a snowy cold Boise at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Kindergarten Field Trip

The kindergarteners had their big all day field trip to the Zoo, Discovery Center and the Park.  We had high temperatures in the 80's and then the day of our field trip it was cold and rainy.  The rain didn't stop, so we couldn't go to the park.
I was able to be a chaperone and had a really fun time with Chloe.  I got to ride the bus and we took silly pictures.
Our favorite Zoo animal was Mr. Mac the turtle who is 100 years old.
Chloe enjoyed playing grocery store and laying on the bed of nails at the discovery center.

Track 2010

Coelton and Caden both ran track this year.  It's pretty much required if you run XC.  Both boys ran the 4x800 relay and the mile.
Caden ran in the Freshman meets and then when that ended he finished the season running JV.  He had a terrible cold just before JV districts, so wasn't able to run that one.  He had high hopes of running a 5:30 mile.
Coelton did very well and ran Varsity.  He qualified in districts to run both the 4x800 and mile.  At districts he also had a cold and was feeling pretty bad.  He qualified for state in the 4x800 and came in 15th in the mile, he ran a 4:43 mile which was his PR.  There were 24 milers and he felt good about how he did.  They only take the top 8 to state.
The state meet was at BSU and Coelton's 4x800 was great.  He didn't run his fastest 800, he ran a 2:06. Their team time at districts was 8:15, at state it was 8:20.  His team took 6th an state and recieved a medal.  The top 6 finishers receive medals.
Our girls beat the state record that they set last year in the 4x800.  The girl Coelton dates is Kelli, She is the taller blond on the top.
It was a bitter sweet race.  It was hard to see him run his last race.  He has worked so hard and has proven to be an excellent runner.  Competing in a 5A school is extrememly difficult.  He could have qualified for state in several events if he lived in a different district or went to a 4A school.  We will miss the other runners.  We have become family and have loved watching them do well and cheering them on as well.
We are so proud of our boys and can't wait to see what the future holds for them, they have such awesome focus and work ethic.

Cinco de Ocho

Our friends in our ward host a fun "cinco de mayo" party each year.  Everyone brings their favorite mexican dish and their lawn chairs.  We eat and the kids break piniatas and they serve fried ice cream for dessert!  It's so good and is a lot of fun.
This year cindo de mayo was bad weather so they had it on the 8th of May...thus Cinco de ocho.

Fun Run

The girls participated in a fun run that was for all the elementary kids in the school district.  It was a mile run.  I was in Utah with my sisters, so Joel took the girls and watched them run.  I think Joel even ran a little of it with Chloe.
They did a great job and Chloe even beat some 4th graders!  Hailey was with the lead pack and had a fun time running with Kylie and Brook (her best friends).
Good job girls!  I hope this is the first of many races for you.

Dresses, Pace and Spring!

Since we got home from Maui on Easter, we didn't do too much. I did order the girls some Easter dresses. I think they are so cute. I didn't get any good pictures of them together, so here are a few randon pictures I have.

I took this one of Chloe before we had to throw away the lei we made in Maui.

The 5th grade students on this side of the state have to do what is called a Pace Project.  They choose a historical person and write a report about them.  They dress up and present to some judges.  Their presentation must be memorized and they can use a poster that they create.  Hailey did her report on Florence Nightingale.

Notice how her poster matches her dress.  That is so Hailey!

Spring has sprung in Western Idaho!  A few weeks ago we went to the temple and walked around to admire the beautiful flowers.

Mother's Day

The day began early when a flash of light woke me up to see Joel standing in front of me with the camera.  Then a parade of kids walked into the room carrying a trey with food and cards that made me cry, some gifts that were homemade and some from the store.
Joel and Caden gave me  this little number.  I am very excited to use it!
Now I don't have to sneak his Garmin anymore.

Chloe's Kindergarten class had a Mother's Day Tea Party on Friday that was delightful.  She made me the cutest cards and bookmark.
Hailey made a beautiful placemat flower with tissue paper and Coelton went right to my weakness...
Guiradelli Milk Chocolate!

I am so thankful to be a Mother.  Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a Mother!
I was still putting my dolls to bed when I was in Jr. High.
I am so blessed with good, healthy children.  I love them so much.
It hurts me to see them grow up and prepare to leave the nest.
I am learning that this is the next step to their progression, and I need to embrace it.

For my Mom:  I miss you everyday!  Oh, how I miss you.
