Frst Day of School

This year Caden is a Junior at Mountain View High School.
He has a heavy load with AP English and AP History.  If he passes these classes they count as college credit.  He also has Algebra 2 and Accounting.  He's never really had to study before and has kind of slid by with A's and B's.  He will have to make some changes and hit the books this year.  He also takes the ACT test this year.
He  has been working for a man in our ward who owns a welding business.  Caden has been working every day after school and weekends.  He worked until 1am on friday night and missed the first big high school football game.  He is helping him make a deadline, so it will end in another week or so.  He has big plans for the money he is earning...I think it involves snowboard stuff.   He also is running XC and that takes time and commitment.  He's a busy boy!

Hailey is a 7th grader at Lake Hazel Middle School.  She is also running XC and is doing well with that.  She has a goal to run at 10:30.  Her meets are just a mile and a half, and the last one she ran her time was 11:30.   She is clogging on the championship clogging team this year for Idaho Rhythm and will be going to Nampa for her lessons each week.  She will pick up piano again once XC ends in October.

Chloe is a 2nd grader at Mary McPherson Elementary.  Her teacher is Mrs. Berg.  She is so excited about the school year and has some nice girls in her class.  She too is clogging and is on a beginner team this year and will be competing.  She turns 8 in January which is exciting!

This year school started on Aug. 30 which was a Tuesday.  So Monday night  joel and I acted like lunch ladies and fed the kids a "lunch room style" dinner.  They thought it was fun and we had fun doing it.

Twin Falls

During the summer we usually meet Shalean and her girls in Jerome for some strawberry picking or we swap girls around.  This year Kayla had her back surgery for her scholiosis.  She spent the summer recovering, so we decided to meet in Twin Falls and stay in a hotel and do some school shopping.  It was nice for Hailey to have some cousin time, since she didn't get to attend the reunion.
We met on Monday morning and shopped all day.  We got the girls all ready for school.  We enjoyed the evening in the hotel pool and went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings.  We shared the 50 wings and 2 orders of fries with unlimited lemonade.  Yum!
The next day shalean and I went to the temple.  The Boise temple closed for a year because they are reconstructing it.  It was nice to get to go.
We shopped at Target and then went and did a hike behind a waterfall which was really fun.

Girls Camp and High Adventure 2011

Since we went on Trek this year with the young men and young women, the youth decided to have a little easier girls camp and high adventure.
The girls did a young women's retreat.  They stayed at the Hayes cabin in Donnely and went water skiing and had a great time.
Joel is the young mens president and he works with the Priest Quorum still.  This year Caden is a Priest and was able to be with his Dad on the high adventure.  They went camping to Cascade and also went waterskiing and hiking.  I never have pictures of the high adventures.  Sometimes I send a camera with them and it always comes home empty.  Maybe one day.   Here are some pictures of the priest quorum date night that they do every summer just before school starts.  They ate at our house and watched a movie at Bishop Simpson's house in his theater room.

Judy Reunion

This year Lance and Katie were in charge and they did a fabulous job.  We went to Lava and stayed at the family property there.  Robbies Glenn Oaks.  It is beautiful.
We pulled the trailer over, which wasn't too bad except for the cost of fuel.  With gas being nearly $4 a gallon and the Yukon guzzles it down when pulling the trailer.
Everyone was there except Clint who is installing security Systems in Ohio.
Hailey had a tough decision to make when she found out her first girls camp would be during the reunion.  She chose to attend girls camp, so we were missing her and Coelton this year.
The Rhett Judy's left on Saturday mornning to go to Lake Powell and Justin and his family left early Sunday morning.

Thursday
We arrived around dinner time and set up our camp and enjoyed exploring the area.

Friday
We had a fun time 4-wheeling.  The girls made an adorable craft.  We also went floating down the river in lava which was so much fun.  We had a great time doing that.  After the river fun, we went to a horse and wagon ride that took us to a nice dinner that we enjoyed.  Our wagon driver was awesome.  He ran the horses around the corners and flipped up the emergency brake.  It was so funny!  The dinner place was very nice with fun stuff for the kids to do and a live band that the adults danced too.
