Boating 2011

This summer has certainly been a "bummer" in the boating department.  The month of June was very cold.  Then we had the accident with the car that prevented us from going for a few weeks.   With Joel's schedule and everything else we only made it out 4 times.
We certainly are grateful for our little boat.  It's actually a little piece of heaven.  We have owned it now for 10 years.  It's a 1991.  We have never had it in the shop or had to repair anything.  Joel always winterizes it and we just take really good care of it.  The interior is showing it's age, but we're not picky.  It doesn't have a tower (the boys complain about that) but we don't NEED a tower.
I love taking the boat out on hot summer evenings and eating dinner on the lake.  The water is cool and refreshing and the roar of the motor and the breeze through my hair is the best!
This year we noticed the engine is making funny sounds and the last time we had it out we smelled something funny.  So we will take it in for the first time to get it looked over.  I hope it is nothing, or very minor.

Joel

Joel is the king of the tube.  The kids try to take over the tube and get him off.  It is hours of relaxing entertainment for me.

Caden and  Tyler

Each summer we see the helicopter come and get water from the reservoir to fight a fire.

Another boating game:  Caden and Nick are on the tube and Joel gives them the wave which means the fighting can start.  They then try to get the other off the tube.

Only 4 times out! Crazy how fast summer flew by! Judy and Kendall are selling their boat (they are getting a wakeboarding boat), first thing we thought when they told us was it is the perfect boat for you guys!!! Great pics! Looks like tons of fun! We love boating season! Too bad we don't live closer so we could all go together!
