Camping in Haggerman

We are trying to get out and use the trailer once a month this summer.  So in June we decided to see what Haggerman is all about.  We left on Friday and arrived in Haggerman a couple of hours later.  It was HOT and when we pulled up to our campground we decided that it looked NOTHING like the online pictures.  We had a heck of a time getting it backed into our site.  The Yukon tires ended up falling off these railroad ties!  I was so scared if the trailer tires went over the whole thing would tip over.  We finally managed to get it in the space and didn't say to many bad works in the process.

We decided to not let a crappy camping spot ruin our trip- so we put on a good face and gazed at the beautiful river and the many waterfalls coming out of the hills and flowing into the river.  They were beautful.

We had planned to do some fishing and Caden and Joel could try out their fly fishing stuff.  But there was no fly shops open so we couldn't buy the flies.  So dumb.  Joel even called some guy who knows what flies the fish are eating this time of year in Haggerman...sounds pretty complex to me.  What's wrong with a worm?
So no fishing for us.  We went into town and ate some pizza at Papa Kelsey's and then went to bed.  The next day we drove all over the place.  We first stopped at the Fossil beds.  They have found fossils from thousands of years ago.  We saw the Haggerman horse-  a fossil of a horse type zebra thing that lived here.  I had to take a picture of the car, cause it looked so good that day.  Almost 10 years old and paid off now for 5 years.  gotta love that!

We drove to the visitors center in Haggerman and watched a movie there all about the fossils found here.  We played around there for a while.

We went to a couple different fish hatchery's and saw some huge sturgeon.

We went to the alligator farm.  This was fun.  We saw several alligator's, and I practiced my photography skills.

We drove a few miles away and saw balancing rock.  This is truly a site to behold.  Very cool.

Almost forgot- we went to malad gorge!  We always drive over this on the freeway going to Idaho Falls.  Each time we take a quick look down and down and down.  It's a bit eerie.  Finally we walked across the bridge and got a really good look at this amazing gorge.  We even threw a few rocks.

We drove through the snake river canyon and it was bery beautiful.  We found this awesomly gorgeous springs.  It was called little niagra springs.  It was so beautfiul.  The water was gushing out of the mountain and was crystal clear and had a really pretty light blue tint.  I don't know what heaven looks like but I hope it looks like this.  The pictures don't do it justice.

The campground we stayed at was called thousand springs.  There is a nice indoor pool- I didn't get any pictures of us swimming, but went back on Sunday and took a picture.  After our long day in the car and visiting all the sites, we were hungry so we went to Papa Kelsey's again and got an ice cream cone, then back to the campground and went swimming before dinner.

On Sunday we went to the church in Haggerman.  It was a nice ward and we enjoyed a change of pace.  After church we cleaned up, packed up and drove home.
Great trip.
