We drove to Meridian the end of June and Caden was able to have his "farewell" that really isn't a farewell because we aren't supposed to do farewell's anymore. He spoke in the Meridian 5th ward and did a amazing job! I was like, "Is that my son?" It was the best.
It was also very HOT. We went to a park in the Tuscany neighborhood and ate yummy food from Costco. It was nice to have so much family, even though they had no place to stay. The Hammer's stayed with Jason. Luc and Caleb came to the park for lunch. We wished they would have come to hear Caden speak, but it was great to have them at the park. They aren't members, but have been great friends to Caden.
We continued our drive to Utah for the dreaded MTC drop off.
We stayed at the Slade's and did everything like we did with Coelton. The Timpanogas temple, the creamery...I felt the entire time like we had just barely done all of this. It had been a little more than 2 years before. Coelton should have come home in May, but he came home Aug. 20. Just missed seeing Caden.
The drop off went smoothly and I felt very peaceful. There were lots of tears, but they were tears of joy.
Caden was very brave and he was a champ!
We met up with Joel's best friend from Shelley, Greg Ricks. His family was dropping off their daughter that day too. They live in Arizona. It was great to get to visit with them!
