Picking up our boy and Spring Skiing!

On April 8 Joel and I drove to  Rexburg and loaded Coelton's things in the car and drove him back home.  He completed 2 semesters at BYU-I!  He did a great job and received good grades.  He had some interesting roommates, but he learned to get a long with everyone.
This picture is one I snapped before we left.  Dante on the left was Coelton's roommate.  He is from Argentina, but lives in Meridian.  He is a great guy.  The second one was a roommate, his name was Seth.  The one standing by Coelton is Coleton Fair.  I laughed so hard when I saw Coelton had a friend named Coleton...they just put the "e" somewhere else.  He isn't a roommate.

April 9th was the last day of skiing at Bogus.  They still had great snow, so we took advantage of one last day of skiing together.  We had a lot of fun.  Spring skiing brings out all the crazy costumes and crazy people.   Coelton wore an old BB jersey.

Here is 2 Easter Bunnies we saw

Spring Break

Our Spring Break this year was not near as exciting as last.  We spent a lot of time reminising about our trip to Maui that we took last spring break.
The weather is never very great during this time of year in Boise, so we decided to get some projects done around the house.  We chose to do the garage floor.  We are painting it and cleaning it out for Coelton's farewell.  We are feeding our families and friends in the garage afterwards.  I also want to do some of my preschool activities in the garage.

The weather was really nice and warm for 2 days it got up to 70 degrees!  We had planned to paint on those days, but the nights were freezing.  We discovered that the temperature of the concrete had to be at least 52 degrees for 2 days before painting and 2 days after.  We spent a lot of money on the paint and decided that we had better do it right and not take any chances, so we are waiting for it to get warmer to paint.

We decided to clean the shed and did that feel good.  All in all we took 2 truck loads to the dump.  We took one big truck load to the DI and we sold 2 things on Craigs List.  I listed our bike trailer for $40 and ended up with $60!  I also sold Chloe's jeep for $50.  The crib hasn't sold yet.  Why on earth we have kept that crib, I'm not sure.  Ya just never know.

Caden got a dog watching job for the week.  We had Pepper, who we LOVE and his new friend Buttercup.  The kids LOVED having the dogs all week.  It was great entertainment.
All in all we had 2-3 poops and a dozen pee pee in the house.  Buttercup is only 6 months old.  I was just happy they were all on the tile.

We rented a grinder to get all the finish off the floor so the paint will adhere.

Buttercup being noaughty and trying to sneak past me to the front yard.

This is how Chloe looked the entire spring break.  Buttercup in hand at all times.

It always amazes me that the dogs know Caden as thier master and LOVES him more than any of the rest of us.  I think Caden loves it too.

UPDATE:  We finally finished the garage floor the end of May.  It looks great and we really love it!

Sweet 16!

I wanted to give Caden a really cool sweet 16 party, but he did not want one at all.  So he won and I backed off.  He has been saving his money for a new snowboard.  He asked us for money for his birthday so he could finally afford to buy it.  We said sure, and the deal was done.  He went to REI and bought his board.  Wow!  He was so happy, he held it in the car like a puppy.  He even slept with it the first night.  There was one problem.  There was still great snow at Bogus and he wanted to use his new board this season.  However, his new board did not have bindings.  We warned him when he decided that was what he wanted for his birthday, but he didn't care.  Oh, the pain and agony he was going through!
He had bought his board a couple days before his birthday.  I found some bindings that he wanted at Dicks and they were on clearance for a good price.  I bought them, thinking we would tuck them away for Christmas.  But Caden was so depressed about not being able to use his board...I gave in and we gave them to him on his birthday.  He was so suprised!  He did have to pay us back for them, which he did after a week of dog watching, and a check from Chem Dry.  He was one happy snowboarder!

We love our Caden!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Chloe looks so cute!
I made "bags of gold" for the preschoolers, and made enough for my own kids.
Chloe was so excited to take it to school.

The preschool class had a really fun day with all the festivities!  They made these adorable leprechauns and found that the leprechaun left them a bag of gold too!
