Back home for a visit

Coelton started school the first of September.  We went to eastern Idaho for Shelley spud day and for Chase's mission report the middle of September.  We were able to see Coelton then.  He came home for a visit the middle of October.   We were so excited to see him again.  It was like Christmas.
His visit was maybe 24 hours, but was worth it.  He arrived Saturday afternoon and left Sunday Afternoon.
We enjoyed talking and getting caught up on his new life.   I got out all the food and started making him something to eat.  Joel told me I was just like my Mom.  He ate everything in site, then we watched the BYU game and played some ball in the back yard.
Kelli's family invited him to dinner at PF Changs, so he went.
We went to Stake Conference on Sunday and then had a nice dinner of french toast, bacon and fruit.  We invited some of Coelton's friends over to eat and visit with him.  Two of his close friends have recieved mission calls.  Elais is going to Bolivia and Garrett to Mexico City.
All too soon he was gone again.  Back to BYU-I.  We can't wait for Thanksgiving!

                                    Roomies with some FHE sisters~

The one pic I took of the short visit.  Playing ball in the back yard
wearing some of the 3D glasses.  What a goof~

New Paint

We moved into your house in August of 2005.  This year it is our 5 year anniversary.  Our living room and kitchen has been red since we moved in.  In fact I have not painted anything since we moved in.  This summer we did paint the shed outside and then the first of October we painted the red walls.   It took alot of paint to cover it, but after 6 days we finally finished.

Caden's XC Season

Caden is a sophmore this year.   I was a little worried how he would like XC without Coelton.  He did really well and jumped right in and got to know a lot of kids on the team and rekindled old friendships from last year.  His good buddy, ward member and neighbor; Josh Eastman is a freshman this year and he decided to join the XC team.  It's been fun for Caden to have him running with him.  They also ran together a bit during the summer months.  His #1 fans were at every meet this year and cheered loudly as he ran by.  We love every bit of it!

Here are Caden's times for this season:
Aug. 28th: "Run for the Pie"  23:00
Sept. 3 Caldwell Invitational  21:38
Sept. 11  NNU  19:50
Sept. 25  Bob Firman  21:43
Oct. 2  Warrior Classic  21:42
Oct. 7th  Gary Ward  20:59
Oct. 14 Gibb Floyd  20:00
Oct. 22  5A Districts  - 19:51
Best mile time 5:48

All meets are 3.1 miles.  Some courses are hard some are flat.  Caden always gets sick during XC season and this year had stomach flu and a bad cold that flares up his athsma.  He didn't miss a meet, and gutted it out to the bitter end each time.  We're so proud of him and can see that Varsity position in the future!

Hailey's Birthday Celebrations

Hailey turned 12 years old on the 15th of October.  However, her celebrations started about a week earlier.  I scored some $1 corn maze tickets to Linder Farm, but they expired on the 9th, so we decided to have her birthday party on the 7th.  It was a Thursday night, but the good thing was there was no school that day.
Hailey invited 12 girls.  They consisted on all the 6th grade activity day girls and her clogging team and Brooke and Kylee.   We all met at the corn maze where all the girls went crazy through the maze for about an hour, then we ate donuts and chocolate milk.  We went back in the maze and did a little contest to see which team came back out with the most punches on their map.

We went back to our house and ate "monster munch" in these really cute Halloween pails I found in the target $ section.  Hailey opened her presents and then we divided into 3 teams and I gave them all a basket full of props/costumes.  They had to come up with a little skit in a certain amount of time and then perform it in front of everyone.   They were so excited and did such a good job, they all wanted to do it again, so we did different teams and different props and did it again!    By that time, the parents came and picked up their girls.  It was a really fun party.

The day before Hailey's birthday, she was supposed to go to clogging lessons.  The Beehive advisor asked me if the beehive class could come over and decorate Hailey's room while she was out, to surprise her.  Hailey was feeling sick and decided to not go to clogging.  We were eating dinner and all the beehives show up at our house!  I hurried and told Hailey to get in the tub.  I dragged her in my room and started the bath while she was getting in I let the girls in and showed them where her room was.

On Hailey's birthday I got up early and drove to the middle school and decorated her locker and filled it with candy.

We went to the dollar theater and thought we would finally get to see Toy Story 3, but when we got there we saw that Despicable Me was playing.  Hailey had all ready seen Toy Story at a cousin camp out during the summer, so she chose to see Despicable me.  It was in 3D and was a fun show.  Lots of crude humor, but such a fun story.

We had pumpkin pie for a birthday cake.  I think Hailey had a great birthday.  There are certainly lots of fun things to look forward to turning 12.  She gets to go to Young Women's and she gets to wear makeup.  Although she only wants to wear mascara, she doesn't even wear that.   I am glad she isn't too excited about it yet, the longer she can remain my little girl, the better.

Who's Eye's are these?

Hailey's XC season and "stuff"

Hailey has grown so much this year! She also started 6th grade at Lake Hazel Middle School. This is a big move in her life. She now has a locker and gets to play sports. She was so excited to run XC and is looking forward to playing a little volley ball.

Andrew and Ashlee Smart (twins), Tallie and Hailey after XC practice and before registration.

In August I was able to take Hailey to a Jon Schmidt concert.  We had a great time and had front row seats.  Hailey even caught one of the balls that he threw out to the audience.  We went with some friends who also play piano.  We were all able to talk to Jon afterwards and he autographed the ball.  I took pictures on my cell phone and as soon as I can figure out how to get those pictures off my cell phone and into my computer I will post them!

Hailey had a great XC season. She talked a few of the 6th grade girls in our ward to run, which made it fun.  She improved her times a lot.  The middle school races 6th-8th grades together.  Hailey always finished in the top 5-7 runners for Lake Hazel. The course in middle school is one and a half miles.  Here are the dates and places of her meets with her times.

 Sept. 2, McDevitt Park: 11:42
Sept. 9, Lewis and Clark: 11:40
Sept.16, Lake Hazel: 11:10
Sept. 23, Lake Hazel: 11:01
Sept. 30, Lake Hazel: 10:52
Oct. 6, Districts at Settler's Park: 10:31

Emily (in our ward), Kylie and Hailey

Tallie, Ashlee and Hailey  (All in the same ward, all 6th grade)

Brooke, Kylie and Hailey.  Best friends since 2nd grade.  Now all go to different middle schools.
Hailey beat them both : )

Hailey had to do a spot light of herself in her home room.  She had to make a poster and present it in front of everyone.  Joel was home, and took her to school and stayed to listen to her.  He snapped these pictures.  The sailboat is a painting that she did.

I thought this was cute.  Hailey came home upset the other day and said the kids at school call her
 "the goody goody mormon girl".
When boys ask her to "go out" with them, she says no.
She doesn't swear to be cool or fit in and she doesn't talk about naughty stuff.
This may not be "cool" in middle school, but this makes her a CHAMPION with her family!

Look what I got!

7 new preschoolers!

I decided to do a preschool again.  I had a 2 year break, and wanted to do it again.  I really enjoy it and with Chloe gone all day now, I need some excitement during the day!

I decided to do it in August and didn't think I would fill up my class.  I only wanted 8 kids.  I had  7 all signed up, then in Sept. one more signed up!  But I lost one last week.  He had to go to a special preschool to help him with his speech.  So I am back to 7.
Maybe next year I will have 2 classes of 8.

They are a super group of kids.  I have 4 who are turning 5 this year and 3 who are turning 4.  I've never done a "mixed" group before, but they all do very well together.   We have preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30-11:30.  We learn about so many fun and exciting things!

My preschool is called the Learning Express Preschool.
